What tools do I need to get started?
You only need a modern web browser and a ChipInventor account. All design tools, simulators, and synthesis flows run in the cloud, so there's no software to install or configure on your local machine.
Can complete beginners join the program?
Absolutely! The Explore module starts from the very basics of semiconductors and digital logic. No prior experience with hardware design is required. We'll guide you through Boolean logic, basic gates, and gradually build up to more complex concepts.
Will I learn real Chip design flow?
Yes! The Innovative module teaches you the complete Chip flow using simplified OpenLane steps. You'll learn synthesis, place & route, timing analysis, and even generate GDSII files for your Chip designs using SkyWater 130nm foundry technology.
Do I get certificates for completing modules?
Yes! Each module completion comes with a digital certificate from VBAcademy. These certificates verify your practical skills in semiconductor design and can be shared on professional networks like LinkedIn.
How long does it take to complete the journey?
The complete journey contains 20 hours of content and you have 3 months to complete it at your own pace. This allows for flexible learning based on your schedule and availability.
Is there community support available?
Yes! All learners get access to our Discord community, AI-powered learning support, and can participate in our live Q&A sessions every Wednesday. You can ask questions, share projects, and collaborate with fellow students and instructors.
What kind of AI support is included?
The journey includes AI-powered learning assistance to help you understand concepts, debug your designs, and get personalized guidance throughout your semiconductor learning experience. The AI is trained specifically on the course content and ChipInventor platform.
What makes this different from other online courses?
